City Bar Diversity Fellowship Program

Administered by the Committee on Recruitment and Retention of Lawyers, this program provides summer clerkships for first-year students to increase diversity in law firms and corporate law departments. The New York City Bar Diversity Fellowship Program is available to all underrepresented populations in the field of law. The goal of the Fellowship Program is to offer first-year students from underrepresented populations a unique summer employment opportunity in outstanding law firms and corporate law departments. The Committee accordingly invites eleven New York City area law schools to participate in the Fellowship Program. Fellowship program page can be seen here.

ASAFE/New York City Bar Securities & Finance Law Seminar Series

The New York City Bar Association and the Alliance of Securities and Financial Educators (ASAFE) will conduct a six-part Seminar Series on Securities and Finance Law beginning in January 2013 for diverse students attending New York City area law schools. The sessions will be presented by leading legal and compliance practitioners (including former and current regulators). Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the nuts and bolts and cutting edge issues in securities and finance law, explore careers in securities and finance law, and develop professional networks by meeting legal and compliance practitioners. Practicing Attorneys for Law Students, Inc. (PALS)

The New York City Bar proudly partners with Practicing Attorneys for Law Students, Inc. (PALS)  PALS® is dedicated to enhancing the skills and careers of minority law students and early career attorneys. PALS® does this by offering customized mentoring, educational and professional development opportunities. PALS® provides resources to augment the law school and employer training of, respectively, minority law students and beginning lawyers, and will continue to offer its services free of charge.
