NY State Bar, Trial Lawyers Won’t Take Part in 10-Group ‘Unified’ Screening of COA Candidates 

A 10-member Unified Bars Screening Coalition has said it will continue to work in unison to screen and announce the individual ratings of judicial candidates. They are: the Asian American Bar Association of New York; the Black Bars Consortium (led by the Metropolitan Black Bar Association); Defense Association of New York; the New York City Bar Association; the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers; the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the Puerto Rican Bar Association of the State of New York; the Tri-County Bar Group of Erie, Monroe and Onondaga counties; the Women’s Bar of the State of New York; and the Women’s Trial Lawyers Caucus.
