DOJ official: People ‘drawing the right conclusions’ on national security focus 

Christian Nauvel, deputy chief counsel for corporate enforcement in the DOJ’s National Security Division, said the agency’s focus on national security is ‘top of mind at the highest levels.’ ‘This year, we have already seen double the number of cases related to national security compared to last year, and that number is only going to increase,’ Nauvel said as part of a panel discussion at the New York City Bar Association’s Compliance Institute on Oct. 24.The National Security Division added 25 new full-time employees to handle the increased workload, he said. ‘The writing is there on the wall for everyone to see,’ he said. ‘People are drawing the right conclusions.’
