The purpose of this page is to provide information which is interesting and useful to attorneys who have reached a point in their professional career where they are undergoing a change from the full time practice of law. The change may be to retirement, semi-retirement, pro bono activities, civic service or a new career outside of the practice of law

Dues

Resident or Suburban Members who have paid dues to the Association of 25 years or more, have attained the age of 60 and are not engaged in active law practice, full-time teaching or other full-time law-related activity may request a 50% reduction in their semi-annual dues. If you qualify, please state those facts on your dues bill and send in the appropriate reduced amount.

Members who have paid dues for 40 years or more may request to be exempted from any further dues payment. To apply for this exemption, email membership@nycbar.org or call 212-382-6665.
