Clean Slate Act Signed Into Law

The New York City Bar Association applauds Governor Hochul for signing the Clean Slate Act into law. Clean Slate is an innovative legislative solution to ameliorate what individuals with conviction histories experience as a civil life sentence. In doing so, this crucial law will allow millions of New Yorkers the opportunity to move forward, achieve financial and housing security, and become vital participants in New York’s economy.
