Search For Mueller Conflict A Futile Effort, Ethics Expert Says
“The long roster of lawyers involved in the Trump-Russia morass may prove to be a boon for ethics scholars eager for fresh material, but don’t expect the investigation to turn on a legal conflict with the man spearheading the probe, New York legal ethics expert Stephen Gillers said Wednesday.
Gillers, speaking at the New York City Bar Association in midtown Manhattan, said there is scant caselaw to support a conflict disqualification of Robert Mueller as special counsel in the Russia investigation, despite assertions to the contrary being raised by some on cable TV and in op-eds.”
