The Travails of Poverty; To the Editor: Re “Risk of Losing Benefits From Everyday Errors”
Many of my clients have experienced the trauma of domestic violence or have mental health challenges and learning disabilities. It is cruel and inhumane to add the burden of having to navigate complex paperwork and bureaucracies to obtain benefits that provide for basic necessities. Our government should not be setting up roadblocks to assistance, but rather simplifying processes.
