NYC Bar Pushes State To Restrict Use Of Noncompetes

The New York City Bar Association urged state lawmakers Monday to enact laws to regulate employers’ use of noncompete agreements, saying most low earners should be exempt from such covenants. In a report authored by the group’s trade secrets committee, bar attorneys argued that lower-salary employees without access to sensitive technology or information should be spared from being subject to noncompetes, saying the practice unfairly harms them.
