The City Bar is committed to ensuring that our government, agencies and elected and appointed officials operate in ways that are fair, accessible, equitable and ethical. Our work covers all levels of government and is intended to shine a light on the daily inner-workings of our government institutions as well as support more broadly the tenets of our representative democracy including due process of law, separation of powers and our system of checks and balances, protection of fundamental rights, and the fair and equitable administration of justice by an independent judiciary. Through substantive reports, comment letters, testimony and draft legislation, we offer reforms to protect election integrity and enhance the administration of government. It is in the public’s interest to have a government that is transparent, deliberative and accountable to its citizens.
