How GCs Can Safeguard Ethics, Data In Face Of Evolving Tech 

‘With all of the great technology that we have now, I think there’s reason to be a nervous wreck about’ how rapidly changes are occurring, said Janis Meyer, a member of the professional practices group at Clyde & Co. LLP and a former general counsel of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP. Meyer was one of three speakers at a New York City Bar Association program on ethics and cybersecurity held Thursday. She is also a special professor of law teaching legal ethics at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law and a lecturer on professional responsibility at Columbia Law School. The bar association’s program dealt with the legal and ethical duties any lawyer has to protect both their clients’ and their own organization’s information, especially when that data is digital and stored in their laptop, cellphone or cloud server.
