The Sex and Law Committee addresses issues pertaining to gender and the law in a variety of areas, such as violence against women, reproductive rights, gender discrimination, poverty, matrimonial and family law, employment law, and same-sex marriage.

Recent topics addressed by the Committee include the issues of paid family leave, reproductive rights in New York State, and civil rights for LGBT individuals. The committee also collaborates with the City Bar’s Student Legal Education and Opportunity Program to provide presentations to public high school students on teen dating violence and sexual harassment in the workplace.
