Appellate Presiding Justices Announce Removal of Citizenship Question from Bar Application

12.1.20. The Presiding Justices of the four Departments of the Appellate Division issued a Joint Statement, announcing the removal of the question regarding U.S. citizenship and immigration status from the Application for Admission to the Bar of the State of New York. The new bar application will be available on the Court’s website on December 31, 2020, the date on which the revision becomes effective.
