5 Court Employees to Receive Botein Award
“Five employees of the New York state Unified Court System have been selected to receive the Bernard Botein Award for outstanding contributions to the administration of justice, Presiding Justice Rolando Acosta of the Appellate Division, First Department, announced. The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held at 5 p.m. on March 26 at the New York City Bar Association, 42 West 44 St. The winners are Maritza Camacho Colon, senior management analyst at the Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge, New York City courts; Major Gerard Duffy, Supreme Court, Criminal Term, New York County; Patricia Ryan-Greene, assistant deputy chief appellate court attorney, Appellate Division, First Department; Irene Laracuenta, supervising jury clerk, Supreme Court, Civil Branch, New York County; and Mary Murray, senior Surrogate Court clerk, Surrogate’s Court, Bronx County. The awards are presented annually in the memory of former Presiding Justice Bernard Botein of the Appellate Division, First Department, and are a gift of the Ruth and Seymour Klein Foundation Inc. The committee charged with selecting this year’s recipients consists of Acosta; George Silver, deputy chief administrative judge of the New York City courts; Susanna Molina Rojas, clerk of the court, Appellate Division, First Department; John Kiernan, president of the New York City Bar Association; and Bret Parker, executive director of the New York City Bar Association.”
