Small Law Firm Center

It is the daily; it is the small; it is the cumulative injuries
of little people that we are here to protect...
- Judge Learned Hand

Many lawyers who choose to become a solo or small firm practitioner are idealists at heart, but soon realize that they need information and support crucial to running a successful business. This is why the New York City Bar launched the Small Law Firm Center.

The Center offers a variety of member benefits and discounts, a Small Law Firm Vendor Program, including free legal research available in our Library and from your home or office. Members have access to a free workspace and conference room that they can reserve in the Customer Service Department located on the first floor. Reservations can be made by calling 212 382 6663.

Free advice and information is available on our website and in our monthly Small Law Firm E-Newsletter to help you excel in your practice. Members can also meet one-on-one to discuss practice management with our Small Law Firm Director at no charge. The Center can help you expand your professional network by attending our Events, joining an LRS Panel and using Free Member Postings.

If there is something you would like the Center at the City Bar to offer that you don’t see, let us know. Check often, we constantly are expanding on member services.

"04-28-2014: Dear Alla, Thanks so much for programming today's Small Law Firm practice event. This is the second one I have attended in as many weeks and am very pleased with the quality and practicality of these presentations. Today's was especially important for me. For several months I have been researching blogging. Despite the fact I am being told that it is not difficult, it was more comfortable for me to do the research than to go online to actually set it up. You see, I have this great fear of creating things on the computer as it always disappears. However, in less than an hour today, I was officially a blogger. Vikram Rajan was an excellent and animated instructor who kept the pace manageable, had great imagery and responded well to the questions. I am delighted to say that I started drafting my first blog today." - Joan Hogarth, The Law Office of Joan D. Hogarth.

"Thank you very much for the opportunity to have participated in the Litigation Mentoring Circle. As this Circle draws to a close, I would particularly like to thank Ms. Virginia Trunkes and Messrs. Jim Landau and John Siffert, who served as genuine mentors, whose encouragement and wisdom was pivotal - in my ability to handle my first oral argument at the appellate level last week - and will remain with me as a model of professionalism and humanity throughout my life." - Victorine Froehlich
