  • 22 N.Y.C.R.R. 1500 requires New York lawyers to obtain Continuing Legal Education credits in Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection. This program is designed to meet the General Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection CLE requirement. Among other areas, the program will help lawyers understand the technology and the threats related to Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection; the consequences of inadvertent disclosures and law office breaches; the challenges presented by remote work; how to manage third party vendors; how to respond to cyber incidents; and the laws governing Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection. Specific areas to be addressed include:

    •    Understanding fundamental issues

    •    Identification and awareness of cybersecurity threats

    •   Technological aspects

    •   Applicable laws and guidance relating to cybersecurity
