Estate Planning applies to everybody. This program will introduce estate planning issues that arise in the ordinary course of people’s lives, and discuss the relevant solutions to those issues. Estate Planning has a tax and non-tax component. With respect to the tax component, this program will introduce basic techniques for reducing and eliminating potential estate, gift, and generation skipping taxes. With respect to the non-tax component, the program will explore options for orderly disposing of assets during lifetime and at death. This program is an excellent opportunity for estate planning attorneys to refresh their basic planning skills. Non-estate planning attorneys will be introduced to the signals that should alert them to the relevant issues that are likely to arise in their own practices.
