- The program will provide an overview of significant developments in the practice of elder law, focusing on Medicare rules and assisted living residences in New York State. The program will feature a presentation by Jacob McDonald, Client Services Counsel with Medicare Rights Center, who will discuss different parts of Medicare, Medicare special programs, Medicare/ Medicaid interactions, and coverage of long term care and nursing homes. Judith D. Grimaldi, Partner, Grimaldi & Yeung LLP, will discuss various assisted living options in New York, such as nursing home alternatives and types of assisted living options, including profit, non-profit, and SSI/Medicaid funded facilities and programs. The program will also cover a variety of legal and ethical issues associated with the practice of elder law, presented by Randal S. Jeffrey, General Counsel with New York Legal Assistance Group.
