    • How are title matters typically addressed in a purchase and sale agreement for real property and why title insurance is important in real estate transactions;

    • How to diligence title using a title commitment and a survey;
    • What a survey should show and how to read it;
    • Obtaining maximum coverage through affirmative insurance and endorsements;
    • How to select a title company; agents v. underwriters; co-insurance and re-insurance;
    • The role of attorneys and other real estate professionals in resolving title issues; discussion of other title company products/services;
    • What to do when a title defect is discovered post-closing; and,
    • Regulatory developments intended to benefit the consumer.
