NYC Bar Announces
2009 Kathryn A. McDonald Award Winners

When: Wednesday, May 13, 2009; 6:00 p.m. (A reception will follow the award ceremony)

Where: New York City Bar Association, 42 West 44 th Street

The New York City Bar Association announces the winners of this year’s Kathryn A. McDonald Awards, which are presented annually for excellence in service to the Family Court. This year’s honorees, KIM SUSSER and EMILY KITAY are lawyers who have dedicated their abilities and leadership skills throughout their careers to the Family Court and the population that it serves.

Susser is the director of the Matrimonial and Family Law Unit at the New York Legal Assistance Group. Kitaycurrently serves as a staff attorney for the Juvenile Rights Practice of The Legal Aid Society.

Susser and Kitay will receive their awards at a City Bar reception honoring New York City Family Court Judges on May 13th at 6pm. Chief Administrative Judge of New York, Ann Pfau, will present the awards, and will make remarks in appreciation of Hon. Joseph M. Lauria’s service as Supervising Judge of the New York City Family Court.

The Kathryn A. McDonald Award is named in honor of the former Supervising Judge of the New York City Family Court and is sponsored by the City Bar’s Committees on Children and the Law, Family Court and Family Law, Juvenile Justice, Domestic Violence and its Council on Children.
