City Bar Fund Elects New Chair and Board Members

The City Bar Fund, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of the New York City Bar Association, has elected Shaila Diwan, King & Spalding LLP, to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors. Shaila has served on the City Bar Fund Board since 2019. 

“It is a great honor to be entrusted with oversight of the City Bar Fund, which does so much for so many in New York City and beyond,” said Diwan. “The four programs in the Fund provide much-needed pro bono help to the public, safeguard justice around the world, and fortify the well-being and diversity of the legal profession.”

The following members were appointed to the City Bar Fund Board: Rachel Beardsley, Partner, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP; Jeffrey L. Braun, Counsel, Kramer, Levin, Naftalis & Frankel LLP; Anne L. Clark, Managing Partner, Vladeck, Raskin & Clark, P.C.; Lissette A. Duran, Counsel, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP; Jay Holtmeier, Partner, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP;  Julie Lauck, Executive Director and Head of Litigation and Employment, Mizuho Americas.

Susan J. Kohlmann, Partner, Jenner & Block LLP, and President, New York City Bar Association, serves ex-officio as President of the City Bar Fund.

Bret Parker, Executive Director, New York City Bar Association, and Kurt Denk, Executive Director, City Bar Justice Center, will serve as Vice Presidents of the City Bar Fund.

The City Bar Fund engages New York City lawyers across four programs – the City Bar Justice Center, the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice, the Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, and the Lawyer Assistance Program – to advance social justice and well-being for the public and within the legal profession.
