Social Welfare Law Committee

The Social Welfare Law Committee’s work focuses on legal issues impacting low income New Yorkers. The committee holds monthly meetings where we discuss current developments in public benefits and poverty law; the committee plans regular events about and writes reports on issues impacting low income New Yorkers; and we participate in legislative advocacy in areas affecting needs based government benefits. The committee’s work seeks to address public policies which concern income disparities and the social safety net.
