Letter to Legislative Leaders regarding Modernizing New York’s Built Environment

SUMMARY

In a letter to legislative leaders, the Committee on Construction Law called attention to the momentum building behind efforts to change New York’s outdated, inefficient and inflexible built environment laws, and urged that the State convene a reform commission that brings all related stakeholders to the table to establish a new procurement code that is both modern and reflective of New York State’s particular history and construction markets. By modernizing its public construction procurement laws, New York can best allocate and protect the significant infrastructure investments on the horizon.
