Mortgage Foreclosure Task Force

The New York City Mortgage Foreclosure Task Force was created by the Council on Judicial Administration in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis to advise on issues relating to the subprime mortgage crisis.  Since then, the Task Force has been instrumental in making the foreclosure process in New York more efficient and equitable by bringing together lender and borrower attorneys, servicer representatives, and civil legal services providers. Task Force members regularly work with judges and non-judicial staff from the Office of Court Administration, comment on draft legislation, and develop best practices.
