The New York City Bar will be CLOSED starting 2:00 PM on Friday, September 1st in observance of Labor Day. We will resume our regular hours at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 5th.
The Monday Night Law/Moderate Means Committee addresses the need for and availability of a wide variety of legal services for persons of moderate means. The Committee sponsors the Monday Night Law clinic, which utilizes 130 volunteer lawyers (whom the Committee trains in relevant topics each year) to provide free counseling in bankruptcy, consumer, employment, family, landlord-tenant, and small business law on most Monday nights throughout the year. In the past year, the Committee also organized and sponsored a Law Week public forum on elder law issues (co-sponsored by the Committee on Legal Problems of the Aging and the City Bar Justice Center Elderlaw Project) and a public presentation on immigration law, conducted in Mandarin at the public library in Flushing.
