The Minorities in the Courts Committee focuses on the treatment of litigants, lawyers and court personnel of color in New York's state and federal courts.
The Committee seeks to address topics to assist the development of minority lawyers and court personnel as well as address the experiences of litigants within the court systems in New York State. Recent programs and topics addressed by the Committee include "Diversity Within Prosecutorial Offices: Why Does It Matter?," "Federal Habeas Litigation: The Fundamental Rules And Principles That All Defense Attorneys Should Know," "Everything You Wanted to Know About Becoming an Assistant United States Attorney but Were Afraid to Ask" and "Getting Appointed to a Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York."
