International Trade Committee

This is no longer an active committee of the New York City Bar Association

The International Trade Committee addresses issues relating to the international trade in goods and services and the legal mechanisms used to regulate trade.  The Committee monitors developments on the national and international levels.  Specifically, the Committee looks at new legislation, policy initiatives and the enforcement power of U.S. agencies such as the Department of Commerce (e.g. BIS, ITA), USITC, Customs & Border Protection and the Department of State and international organizations such as the World Trade Organization and UNCITRAL. The Committee also focuses on multilateral and bilateral trade agreements such as NAFTA and dispute settlement of cases brought under such agreements.
