When Moving In-House, Office Politics Can Be a Struggle
Office politics looks very different at legal departments than it does at law firms, according to in-house attorneys who spoke at a panel discussion hosted by the New York City Bar Association on Tuesday. At the event, ‘In-House Culture: Transitioning from the Outside In,’ three in-house attorneys answered questions about what it was like to go from a law firm to an in-house position. They were asked if they miss being at a firm (Not really, except for maybe the support staff and the salary). And about what the most difficult adjustment was when making the transition (Time management and learning the industry). Particularly interesting, though, were their opinions on office politics at a law firm vs. in-house.
