Rising Antisemitism in NYC and What Is Being Done Legally & Legislatively to Combat the Trend

At a time of surging anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic attacks throughout the NYC area, the City Bar’s Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, with the help of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, hosted a critical forum on the legal and legislative impact of these challenging times on our city.

Convening a high-level panel with the actors directly involved in shaping these policies, the City Bar looks to provide direct access to its members and beyond about what is occurring on the ground and what role we can collectively play in combating such hate in both our legal community and society at large.

Moderator: Michael D. Cohen, Eastern Director Simon Wiesenthal Center

Panelists:
Mark Levine, Manhattan Borough President
Eric Dinowitz, NYC Councilmember Chair of the Jewish Caucus and the Higher Education Committee
Hassan Naveed, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Hate Crime Prevention
Ari Farkas, Deputy Director of the Hate Crimes Bureau of the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office
