Remote Access to Judicial Proceedings – EDNY

9.29.20 EDNY District Court, Administrative Order 2020-24, “Remote Access to Judicial Proceedings.” In light of the continuing COVID-19 public health emergency, judicial proceedings in civil and criminal matters in the Eastern District of New York are being conducted by teleconference or videoconference, including pursuant to the CARES Act, and Administrative Orders 2020-13, 2020-13-1, and 2020-13-2. Members of the public and the media will be permitted remote access to such public proceedings, free of charge, as determined by the presiding judge. AO 2020-24 sets forth rules prohibiting anyone other than court officials engaged in conducting court business from making recordings (audio, video, or photos) or rebroadcasting the proceedings in any manner.
