NYSBA Asks Courts To Alter ‘Illegal’ Bar Admission Question

In a letter in June 2021, the New York City Bar Association asked state court leaders to amend Question 26….Melissa S. Ader, a supervising attorney at the Legal Aid Society and a city bar member who was among the first to raise red flags about Question 26, said amending the admission application gives court administrators the chance to effect change. ‘Now is the perfect time for the Unified Court System to show that it is committed to fighting racial bias within the legal profession. And it can do that by revising Question 26,’ Ader told Law360 Pulse.
