New York City Bar Association Announces the 2011 Kathryn A. McDonald Award Winners

New York, NY, April 13, 2011 – The New York City Bar Association today announced the winners of this year’s Kathryn A. McDonald Awards, which are presented annually for excellence in service to the Family Court. This year’s honorees, Melissa Beck and Virginia Gippetti, are individuals who have dedicated their abilities and leadership skills throughout their careers to the Family Court and the population it serves.

Beck is the Chief Executive Officer for Legal Information for Families Today (LIFT). Gippetti currently serves as the Director of Data Analysis for the New York City Family Court.

Beck and Gippetti will receive their awards at a City Bar reception on May 11th at 6:30 pm. Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, Hon. Jonathan Lippman, will present the awards.

The Kathryn A. McDonald Award is named in honor of the former Supervising Judge of the New York City Family Court and is sponsored by the City Bar’s Committees on Children and the Law; Family Court and Family Law; Juvenile Justice; Domestic Violence and its Council on Children.
