Lawyer Assistance Program Celebrates 15 Years of Service

The New York City Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP), a free, confidential service for attorneys, judges, law students and their family members in New York City struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health issues, is celebrating its 15th year in operation. The occasion will be marked on June 16th with a celebration in conjunction with the 8th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. That same day, LAP will host a Volunteer Training from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the City Bar, with CLE credit available. The program, co-sponsored by LAP, the Brooklyn Bar Association’s Lawyers Helping Lawyers Committee and the New York State Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Program, is open to anyone interested in learning about the challenges lawyers face and/or becoming a volunteer for LAP.
