Guo Rongkeng’s first public speech reprimands the National Security Law for attacking the rule of law courts for difficult protection of human rights

Guo Rongkeng, a former legislator of the legal profession who left Hong Kong for Canada in a low-key manner, made his first public speech. He criticized at an online seminar of the New York City Bar Association that the national security law has seriously affected the rule of law and legal system in Hong Kong. Including the bail regulations ordering the defendant to be detained for about two years without trial. “The presumption of innocence is very, very empty for people in prison.”
