Gun Regulation after the Heller Decision: What’s Next?

Last June, the Supreme Court struck down the Washington, D.C. regulations on gun ownership, declaring in a 5-4 decision that the regulations violate the Second Amendment’s protection that the “right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” As a result, state and municipal gun regulations are under severe scrutiny in court proceedings and legislative proposals. This panel will discuss and debate these current developments and how the Supreme Court’s decision is affecting the controversy.
