Current Issues in Insurance Regulation 2019 – April 12

Insurance Regulation

The New York City Bar Association’s 29th annual program on Current Issues in Insurance Regulation will feature national and regional leaders exploring topical issues of importance to the insurance industry.

Linda Lacewell, Acting Superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services, will deliver a keynote address, and two of the panels will feature roundtables of general counsels and state insurance commissioners, respectively.

Other panels in the half-day program, which provides Continuing Legal Education credit, are “Marijuana Legalization and its Effect on the Insurance Industry” and “InsurTech and the Legal and Regulatory Implications for the Insurance Industry.” For a preview of some of the issues that are likely to come up in the InsurTech panel, see this blog piece by the panel’s moderator, Robert M. Fettman, Counsel at Hogan Lovells LLP.
