Compliance Committee Hosts Delegation from China

The City Bar’s Compliance Committee hosted a delegation from People’s Republic of China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) on January 16, 2019, at the offices of Dorsey & Whitney LLP. The delegation was visiting the U.S. to learn more about the U.S. banking and corporate compliance environment. The Compliance Committee (with the assistance of Committee Member Lanier Saperstein) organized the session. Compliance Committee Chair Michael McMaster provided background information on the City Bar and its committee system. Nick Akerman, Partner, Dorsey & Whitney LLP and former prosecutor, gave a presentation on corporate compliance, which was followed by a lively Q&A session with the panel of experts.
