City Bar Makes Permanent Eastern District Pro Se Assistance Program

The Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Project, which was launched about one year ago as a pilot program to provide assistance to unrepresented litigants in civil matters in the Eastern District, has been made a permanent program. According to a recent report from the New York City Bar Association’s Justice Center, the program provided assistance to at least 290 pro se litigants in Eastern District civil cases from its inception in March 2015 to the end of last year, and Nancy Rosenbloom, director of the project, estimates that the program has assisted at least an additional 100 litigants since that time.
