City Bar Diversity & Inclusion Conference to Feature Leading General Counsels, Professors & Experts

The New York City Bar Association will host its second Diversity & Inclusion Conference on Tuesday, May 24. The event will feature leaders in the legal profession, including General Counsels, law firm managing partners, and diversity and inclusion experts and scholars. The program will include workshops on intersectionality and allies & advocates.Katherine W. Phillips, Senior Vice Dean, and Paul Calello, Professor of Leadership and Ethics at Columbia Business School, will present a keynote on building inclusive teams. The annual General Counsels Forum will be moderated by Nate Saint-Victor, Executive Director at Morgan Stanley and Co-Chair of the City Bar’s Committee to Enhance Diversity in the Profession, and panelists include Atiba Adams of MARS Global Chocolate; Horacio Gutierrez of Spotify; Elizabeth D. Moore of Con Edison; as well as law firm managing partners Eric Friedman of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; and Seth Bryant of Bryant Rabbino.

The panel on intersectionality will feature Jacqueline LiCalzi of Morgan Stanley and Maria Melendez of Sidley Austin LLP. Anne Weisberg of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP will moderate. Drew Gulley of Bloomberg LLP and Meredith Moore of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP will facilitate a session on strategies for allies and advocates for inclusion.

Law firm managing partners are invited to a private session to discuss the successes and challenges in their diversity efforts, and to provide anecdotal evidence and share best practices.
