Another Voice: New York’s federal lawmakers must protect the Endangered Species Act

“New York Attorney General Letitia James has joined colleagues from 18 other states, the District of Columbia and New York City in a lawsuit to stop the Trump administration from gutting critical protections under the Endangered Species Act.

Now, the state’s congressional delegation must get on board by signing onto the PAW and FIN Conservation Act of 2019. Of New York’s 28 federal lawmakers, only six have cosponsored the bill. Introduced in September, the legislation would immediately reverse the Trump administration’s devastating regulations that favor industry over imperiled species.”
