New York City Bar President Stumps for Judges Pay Raise

“[J]udges haven’t received raises in nearly a decade, while the cost of living has risen at least 30 percent,” said Kamins, the president of the New York City bar association and former president of the Kings County Criminal Bar Association. “[O]n the day a law school graduate is admitted to the bar and joins a large firm, that … person makes a salary in excess of what is made by the chief judge of the state.”
