Criminal Advocacy Committee
The Criminal Advocacy Committee covers issues concerning the practice of criminal law in New York City, New York State, and nationally. The Committee’s members work in roles across the criminal justice system, including as current and former state and federal prosecutors, public and private defense attorneys, commissioners of various law enforcement agencies, and judges. The Committee seeks to educate the profession on developments and current issues in criminal law and advocacy, comments on legislation and policy initiatives, and coordinates with other City Bar committees on issues relevant to criminal law. As of May 2025, the Criminal Law Committee has been merged into the Criminal Advocacy Committee.
