(Webcast) Training on the NYS Courts’ Electronic Systems – Microsoft Teams for Virtual Proceedings and E-Filing

Monday, October 17, 2022 | 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Program Chair:
John M. Lundin

  • The New York State Unified Court System adopted a virtual platform for e-filing, conferences and virtual courts during the pandemic. It also transitioned to Microsoft Teams as the standard for internal and external videoconferencing calls and virtual court hearings. As the pandemic has eased, the court system has retained some of the remote practices it developed during the pandemic.  Learn from court personnel on how to use Teams and all of its features. This program will cover what devices you will need to participate, what you need to do before joining a Teams meeting, and what you need to know to handle virtual chamber conferences, motion arguments, and virtual courts. The training will also cover Alternative Dispute Resolution conferences. There will also be training on E-Filing with the NYS Courts’ Electronic Filing (NYSCEF) system from nuts to bolts, including a demonstration of the courts’ Virtual Evidence Courtroom – an evidence management application within NYSCEF. This is a must-attend program for any litigator wishing to keep up to date with the court’s electronic system.
