This program will address some of the forms of relief that the family court is hearing right now (writs, orders to show cause, and orders of protection). The program will discuss the formal requirements for writs and orders to show cause, how to draft them effectively so that they are heard (and deemed essential) and the mechanics for filing. The program will also discuss creative relief that can be sought through the Family Offense filing (including applications for temporary custody and support when those applications aren’t currently being heard).
