In keeping with the times, lawyers are turning to social media sites to enhance their professional presence. These on-line activities have ethical implications. During this program, panelists will discuss both the “how to” and ethical implications of using social media in your legal practice.Topics will include:
- How to effectively integrate Twitter and LinkedIn into your practice
- The ethical implications of using social media – including permissible tweets and posts, how posts may constitute lawyer advertising, avoiding pitfalls, i.e. the unauthorized practice of law, protecting confidential information, and law firm “ownership” of the individual attorney’s publications
- The latest trends in social media as they relate to practicing attorneys
- New mediums on the horizon and their potential effect on how attorneys practice and advertise
