Over the past several years, we’ve focused so much on survival without much time (or energy) to focus on the recurring questions that come up in nonprofit practice. This year’s Nonprofit Institute will take a pause, pulling together a full day of legal building blocks to ensure that practitioners, whether external or in-house counsel, have the basics in order. We’ll explore a range of topics that arise regularly in daily nonprofit practice, including:
- Endowments, Restricted Funds and Board Reserves
- Unrelated Business Income Tax
- Fundraising Issues (crypto, crowdfunding and more)
- Structuring Overseas Activities
- N-PCL Traps for the Unwary
As always, we’ll feature an ethics discussion that will explore the ins and outs of internal investigations, as well as panels focusing on the current processes and priorities of the Internal Revenue Service and the Charities Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
Who Should Attend: This full-day program is intended to serve in-house and outside counsel with a well-developed background in nonprofit law, but it will also be a useful and informative session for not-for-profit organizational managers as well as lawyers who focus on other sectors and seek to enhance their early practice in the not-for-profit field.
Program Fee:
$599 for Members | $699 for Nonmembers
$299 In-House Counsel Members | $399 Nonmembers
Small Law Firm Member/Gov/NP/AC/Judiciary: $299 Member | $399 Nonmember -
