  • Are you thinking about hanging a shingle? If so, the City Bar’s How to Start Your Own Law Firm CLE will flag issues for forming a solo practice — for example:

    • Choosing a business entity
    • Whether to partner or go solo
    • Insurance
    • Banking
    • Finding office spaces
    • Other considerations

The CLE will also address managing your new practice — for example:

    • Practical and ethical issues in advertising
    • Creating a website
    • Practice management
    • Billing
    • Retainer and engagement agreements
    • Hiring staff
    • Staying sane and much more

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the panelists, all of whom have built their own successful solo firms.

    Program Fee:
    $119 for Members | $219 for Nonmembers
Small Law Firm: $69 for Members

Members who are Recent Law Graduates, Newly Admitted Lawyers (admitted for the first time in any state or country 2018-2020), In-House/Corporate Counsel, Judges, or attorneys that practice within the Government, Academic or Not-for-Profit sectors attend this program for free.
