Privacy and data security issues continue to be primary concerns for every industry. The security threats keep increasing, and the legislative/regulatory landscape on the federal, state and international levels keep changing. Every client and attorney should be familiar with general privacy principles and laws that apply in order to properly maneuver in their industry. This session will provide an overview of the hottest issues in privacy and data security law, which may include, recent legislative and regulatory developments; security breaches, law enforcement, internal information security programs, digital marketing; big data; international concerns and practical guidance to help any organization better manage its information gathering, dissemination and use practices.
