This program provides an experience-based overview and perspective on spotting and dealing with ethics issues that arise over a wide range of practice areas. Members of the Professional Discipline Committee will present short, entertaining but issue-filled vignettes reflecting real-world scenarios. This program will cover ethical issues involved in inadvertent production of privileged materials in discovery, the use of investigators by law firms, law firm billing of clients, plagiarism, redaction, cybersecurity for lawyers, uncivil conduct and obligations to courts and adversaries, the proper use of attorney escrow accounts, lateral movement by lawyers and the pitfalls to avoid in dealing with pro se litigants. A panel of experts representing many facets of the legal community and decades of experience will comment on, discuss and answer questions about the vignettes. The goal is to present issues and incidents the audience will remember and practical information they can use in daily practice.
Program Fee: $199 for Members | $299 for Nonmembers
Members who are Recent Law Graduates, Newly Admitted Lawyers (admitted for the first time in any state or country 2018-2020), In-House/Corporate Counsel, Judges, or attorneys that practice within the Government, Academic or Not-for-Profit sectors attend this program for free.
