(Webinar) Creating Strong and Effective Client Relationships: The Art of Collaboration and Communication

  • A discussion of the most significant areas of grievances against lawyers and how practicing attorneys can manage those situations to create strong client confidence and working relationships. The course will discuss the three most common ethical complaints, strategies to avoid them from the beginning, the need for effective, ongoing and candid communications, and protecting yourself from misunderstandings. We’ll discuss, interviewing skills resulting in reasonable expectations, contracts, controlling the narrative, billing strategies for success, and responding to complaints effectively.

    • Handling Difficult Clients, and Difficult Opposing Counsel

    • Statistics on Malpractice Claims
    • Correct Use of Law Firm Trust Accounts

    This will be via an annotated PowerPoint presentation, which will be made available to the participants.   Presenter will answer questions, and provide follow-up to audience following the presentation.

  • Claude E. Ducloux has been licensed in Texas since 1977, and has also been licensed in California and Colorado. In 2011, he won the highest statewide award from the State Bar of Texas for lifetime contribution to CLE (the “Gene Cavin Award”), and has spoken in more than 200 programs in 16 states since Jan 1, 2015, where attendees regularly rate his presentations very highly. Mr. Ducloux has a long legacy of bar service, including being President of the Austin Bar Association, and serving as Chair of almost every major Bar-related entity, as well as the Texas Bar Foundation. Mr. DuCloux is Board-Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is the former Chair of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics.
