This program will focus on the real estate issues involved in owning and operating a restaurant in New York. The program will address leasing issues including build outs, assignment and subletting, contingencies, guarantees, term limits, options to extend, tax inclusions, rent concessions, and escalations. We will also focus on construction issues including retaining architects/general contractors/subcontractors, scheduling payments, insurance coverage, bonding, progress payments, approvals of work, termination, liens and lien waivers. Program speakers will additionally touch upon sidewalk café issues, certification of occupancy questions, noise and other potential violations, and other common restaurant real estate issues.
